The Beverage Journey
At Mongkok Tea House, our beverage list is created as part of the full Asian fusion dining experience. Every cocktail, wine, beer and zero-proof drink is considered alongside the food, so each pairing feels balanced, thoughtful and easy to understand.
Our concept is inspired by the Bagua from Feng Shui and the I Ching. Traditionally, Bagua was used as a way to read energy, direction and even predict what may come next. At Mongkok, we reinterpret this idea through flavour. Instead of predicting your future, our Bagua guides your dining journey—helping you discover the best drink pairing for the dish, mood and flavour profile you are drawn to.
Each time we change the menu, our team works closely with the chef to understand the structure of every dish: acidity, spice, texture, aroma, sweetness and richness. From there, we build flavour categories such as crisp, citrus, fruit, floral, herbal, spiced, savoury & mineral, and rich.
Behind the simplicity is a detailed process of tasting through many wines, cocktails and pairings until each selection earns its place. Our goal is to make choosing a drink feel intuitive, personal and memorable.
