Qixi Festival is inspired by one of China’s most cherished ancient love stories — the tale of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl.

According to legend, the two lovers were separated by the heavens and placed on opposite sides of the Milky Way. Only once a year, on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, are they allowed to reunite.

On this special night, a bridge formed by magpies is said to appear across the stars, bringing them together for one precious evening. Their story has been passed down through generations as a timeless symbol of devotion, patience, and a love powerful enough to overcome distance and time.
